Hey Spartans!
I’m Amalia Weix, your Co-Editor-in-Chief, here to welcome you to the second half of the school year. Final grades should be in, so leave the old semester behind and get ready to start off the new one strong!
Now, onto the issue. There continues to be entirely too much to talk about in News, from Venezuela, to ICE, to a strange conspiracy theory regarding the Kennedys. Over in Student Life, we’ve got some handy pieces of advice on AP classes, and Arts and Entertainment has an array of movie reviews, including Primate and the recently-released 28 Years Later: Bone Temple. Next up, Opinions is offering some views on Ouija boards, as well as a rundown on the issues with the right to die. To tie it all off, Sports has previews of both the Super Bowl and the Puppy Bowl.
Additionally, in case you’ve missed all the posters, VPM Drama’s production of Urinetown is this month! Show weekends are the first two weeks of February, so head on over to their website (memorial.ludus.com) and snag some tickets before they sell out!
As always, if you’re interested in joining the Sword & Shield, we meet on Thursdays during lunch in room 1716. Our planning meeting for the March issue will be on February 5th. We hope to see you there, and thank you for reading!
