Hey Spartans! Fall is upon us! I am PJ Mulkey, one of the editors here at the Sword and Shield. September was a blast for the Spartans with homecoming happening on only the 4th week of school! Hopefully, the start of the school year is going well for you Spartans, keep up those grades as we keep you informed. Don’t forget if you want to drop a class you have until the 7th week of the semester to drop! Also, seniors remember to start locking in on those college essays! This October we have planned an amazing Sword and Shield for you to help cover all the upcoming events such as Halloween and the end of the football season. 

Starting Fall off our Arts and Entertainment is covering everything from hit video games, movies, and music to Gleam at the Olbrich Gardens! Over in Student life homecoming is getting covered and some of our new clubs. News has the presidential debate and those weird (or so they seem) new bus lanes. Sports is all about a variety of topics from Formula One drama to football and we even put the Paralympics in alongside our very own VPM girl’s Tennis team. This is finished off with opinions where new debate is sparking over what is the socially acceptable age to trick or treat. Plus some interesting controversy over NaNoWriMo. And what we think the top ten best plants are.
