Spring is racing forward Spartans and with it comes a sport we have begun to cover more frequently here at the sword and shield, Formula One. A world of fast cars, bizarre tracks, and lots of drama Formula 1 is the apex of racing scenes in the world. However, for every good team and strong contender in the sport, there must be a loser. For a while, the Williams Racing team has not been a strong one. With multiple disappointing seasons in a row coming close to last if not last place scraping by on barely any points. This year though their largely untested team principal who is a year old at his job has found some hope for the team in new drivers. Carlos Sainz from Ferrari has just signed with Williams and will bring some much-needed experience to the team. 

Carlos is a very respected driver who has performed well at Ferrari over the years but was dropped due to the potential of hiring Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion. Carlos is still looking to compete and do well. Williams has in the past few years steadily improved their car and made some moves with their young driver Alex Albon in order to establish themselves. SO while the car may not be Ferrari level it certainly is not Alpha Tauri level, Red Bull racing’s second F1 team. 

So will this truly be what Williams needs to break away from the competition? Only time will tell as teams gear up for a season dominated by McClaren Williams will need nothing short of a miracle to keep their fragile lead over the rest of the lower half teams. Hopefully one Carlos Sainz will be able to provide.
