The Rape Crisis Center’s youth advisory board, GameChangers, is hosting an art show to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rape Crisis Center (RCC). RCC 50th Anniversary Art Show: At the Intersection of Our Past and Present is an exhibition of various works of art created by artists from the Madison area. The mission of the art show is to center survivorship, empower marginalized voices and celebrate the past while dreaming of the future. The show aims to celebrate and showcase the diverse perspectives and experiences for the artists and provide a safe space for them to express themselves freely. The artworks on display can address a wide range of themes related to queer identity, history, culture, and politics. Gamechanger, Nitya Patil, writes, “Join us to connect with the community and raise awareness. By creating a space for artists to be seen and heard, this art show has a crucial role in promoting visibility, inclusion, and diversity.” The art show will take place on April 14th from 6-8pm in Gallery 1308 at Union South. Everyone is welcome to observe the amazing art, and celebrate the Rape Crisis Center’s 50th anniversary.

Gamechangers is looking for artists to submit pieces by April 7th. Art works can include but are not limited to: paintings, sculptures, photography, mixed media, and spoken word.
