“Today, I woke up from a very long dream, and I also woke up having lost 250 pounds off of my body. And just yesterday, people were calling me fat and sick and boring and irrelevant. People are the most messed-up creatures on the entire planet, and yet I’ve still managed to stay two steps ahead of everyone. The joke’s on you,” said Nikocado Avocado, or Nicholas Perry, in his latest video a few weeks ago.
Perry, who is known for his mukbang YouTube videos in which he films himself eating large amounts of food, has been all over the internet because of his seemingly sudden and extreme weight loss of over 200 pounds. Perry claims to have pre-recorded 2 years worth of videos while he was at his heaviest weight, all while undergoing extreme weight loss. This accomplishment, which he calls the “greatest social experiment” in his entire life, has received positive, negative, and doubtful feedback on social media. Some are proud of him for taking steps to improve his health, while others are unsure if this is just another “social experiment.” While it may be too early to say for sure, many are hopeful that Perry is on a long-term wellness journey and that he can set an example for others who are struggling with similar challenges.
