New Guinness World Record of Longest Time Balancing a Guitar on the Chin Set
October 27, 2022
Recently, David Rush beat the Guinness World Record officially titled, longest duration balancing a guitar on the chin. The Idaho man already has about 250 world records under his belt, starting his attempts in 2015 and, in 2021, making it his goal to beat one record for each week in the year. “He is the world’s fastest juggler, the world’s slowest juggler, and has the record for most bowling balls juggled, most consecutive ax juggling catches, and longest duration balancing a bicycle on the chin,” as stated in his website’s bio.
Hoping to gain awareness for STEM education, Rush initially made the record of 1 hour and 12 minutes, only to find that this record had previously been beaten by about a minute by Christian Roberto Lopez Rodriguez from Spain’s time of around 1 hour and 13 minutes. Determined to have the record, David Rush set about making another video for proof, balancing a guitar on his chin for 1 hour and 35 minutes, setting the record. While this has yet to be approved by Guinness World Records, it is still quite an impressive feat. According to the record holder, “the pain was too great and I took the guitar off my chin. That was a lesson in pain,” in explaining why he ended the attempt.
