With Donald Trump’s recent announcement of a renovation to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., a review of his spending on “renovations” and “additions” should be conducted. The Kennedy Center is undertaking a $200 million renovation to change what was done during the recent two-year renovation, and among other things. That renovation was not only successful but purely cosmetic. It was also done while the center was open, but no, they needed to close it.
This is at a time when the newly renamed Trump-Kennedy Center for Performing Arts is slowly sinking into debt. Some good renovations are an update to the HVAC, safety, and electrical systems, along with the parking nearby. Based on NPR, the Kennedy Center has not revealed if there is more to the renovation, or not. But anyways, thats $200 million down the drain, then we get to the ballroom.
In 2025, Trump’s office began demolishing the East Wing of the White House. The East Wing is the primary residence for the President and their family and was first completed in 1902.
Trump’s plans for this new wing include a massive ballroom. The new wing is an addition of about 90,000 square feet, with about 22,000 of that being the ballroom. That means that a full olympic sized swimming pool can fit inside this ballroom with room to spare.
This addition is literally bigger than the entire White House right now. It also costs about 1 billion dollars, so more money down the drain. And all this money is going to help someone who is mentioned in the Epstein Files more times than Jesus Christ is mentioned in the Bible. To quote Jack Hughes (gold medal winner for the USA), “I am so proud to be an American”… not. Okay, that might not be a direct quote, but it’s close enough. I just hope that Trump is using some of the $130 billion collected through illegal tariffs to please himself with Operas and a bigger White House.
