With May just around the corner, AP exams are on many students’ minds. However, this year, the College Board has decided to implement a new and exciting policy: test takers can now bring a single, three by five inch index card on which they can write notes to help during the exam. This is expected to raise the scores of many students, so accordingly, the College Board has decreased the amount of time given to test takers to make the test itself more difficult. The College Board has stated that this change is designed to prepare students for college exams since many colleges have shifted toward open note exams. Most AP students seem to be responding positively, with many students feeling less stressed about studying. However, others have expressed concerns about the increasing difficulty of the exam and the score curve. It looks like we’ll just have to wait and see how this new policy impacts students, but in the meantime, we wish all AP test takers luck for this May!
