Fall…the season of hot chocolate and progressively colder weather, with a pinch of Halloween spirit! It seems like the perfect time to cuddle up and binge-watch classic horror movies and bake many pumpkin spice-themed treats. The colorful leaves of Autumn bring a sense of warmth, quiet contrary to the temperatures outside. Fall should be embraced and loved, so let me guide you through it!
This is the best season to put your baking skills to the test! I have a classic fall recipe, pumpkin muffins! But with a bit of a twist to make things a bit more interesting! It is a normal pumpkin muffin recipe but with a pecan streusel. Now, it may sound complicated but it’s not demanding at all! This recipe requires, all-purpose flour, butter, demerara sugar, pecans, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, pumpkin pie filling, nutmeg. The steps to start baking are as follows:
1) Starting off with the streusel topping. Combine the flour, demerara sugar, butter, chopped pecans, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
2) Moving on to the muffins! Combine in a medium-sized bowl, the flour, a pinch of salt, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk the mixture well and set aside.
3) In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until blended. Add one egg at a time and at medium speed beat well after each egg. Continue beating until the mixture is fluffy and light.
4) Into the same mixture we made in Step Three, add the pumpkin filling and mix until smooth.
5) Using an ice cream scoop or two spoons, add the mixture to a prepared muffin pan. Divide the streusel topping evening on top of the muffins.
6) Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
7) Enjoy and share…or don’t!
And there we have our delicious muffins in just 6 very fulfilling steps!

Time for movies…but which one?
We have all had times when we don’t have “anything” to watch. Below are some prime spooky season movies that will solve this TV-watching dilemma!
- When Harry Met Sally.
For all my fellow rom-com lovers. The tropes are “opposites attract”, “friends to lovers”, and “grumpy x sunshine” (Thank me later).
- Fantastic Mr. Fox. One of our favorite book adaptations, a nostalgic and fun experience guaranteed!
- Autumn In New York. Watch at your own risk because it WILL leave you crying. A heartbreaking love story but definitely worth a watch!
- Scream. An original and best for binge-watching!
- Gilmore Girls(not a movie). Yes, it’s not a movie but it’s officially Gilmore Girls season! A 2000’s prime and one of the greatest masterpieces on Netflix (I am a Gilmore Girls enthusiast if you couldn’t already tell by my very bold assertion).
Muffins, movies…what’s next?
Fall is a great time to go outside, even if it’s only for the scenic views out. These exciting fall activities will have you wanting to go out and enjoy Autumn what it’s best known for!
Fall is notoriously known for all the pumpkins that are found in the market at that time, it’s pumpkin season for a reason. Pumpkin carving is a famous activity, is it even fall if you haven’t carved pumpkins? Carving, decorating, painting and just overall glamourizing pumpkins is so fun! It’s a delightful activity for anyone who wants to let their inner Picasso out in a rather festive way. If art is not your thing, try making caramel apples. You can’t go wrong with caramel and apples and the best part about this activity is the delicious outcome! Making a backyard bonfire is another fantastic way to enjoy the weather outside. It’s one of the best fall activities and what’s better than sitting around a fire with friends and family roasting marshmallows? Apple and pumpkin picking are always great things to do. Another plus side of Autumn is that it comes with the sweetest apples and the roundest pumpkins! But no matter what you do Fall promises a wholesome time!
Well, this sums up my little guide to make sure you enjoy fall how it is supposed to be enjoyed. Hope it helps and makes your Autumn a tad bit better with the recipe, movies, and activities! Happy Fall!
