The 2024 formula one season has finished in no less of a dramatic fashion than last year. The final race was the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Going into the race tensions rose high as McClaren secured the top two positions with Ferrari not far behind. Both teams were fighting for the constructors championship as Max Verstappen had already secured the drivers championship weeks ago. Ferrari needed to put both their cars ahead of the Mclarens but they were fighting downhill form the start with Lando Norris on pole position he started uncontested and quickly secured a lead. 

However Ferrari was offered a moment of hope when Max Verstappen clipped Oscar Piastri’s front wing and put him to the back of the race. Ferrari jumped on this chance going 2 and 3 but were unable to hound down Norris. The end result was the first constructors championship win for Mclaren since before 2000 and the establishment of them as a team to fear. 

The race however also marked Lewis Hamilton’s final race with Mercedes after winning 8 world championships there he is turning to Ferrari in hopes of a better car after some unfortunate seasons under Mercedes. What is going to be even more interesting to watch next year is the battle between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris as the two look to be the greatest contenders for the drivers championship. As well as what new driver Red Bull will bring in as Checo Perez has most likely raced his last Formula one season. But right now every team is looking hopeful as McClaren secures a historic constructors championship all eyes will be on them looking to see if they have a fluke or dynasty on their hands.
