Sports season is back Memorial! (Does it ever really leave?) And with it, we have a new wave of professional sports starting back up. The NFL (National Football League) has been going on for 4 weeks now and has been filled with excitement and surprises. Starting the season in the first week, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained just hours before the season kickoff on Sunday. He was let go and played the game celebrating a game-winning touchdown with handcuffs celebration. In the press release later he reported that he didn’t do anything wrong and the officer was then placed on administrative duty as an ongoing investigation by the local police started. In other news the first week was filled with upsets and disappointment for some. The Rams had a close game coming up just short of beating the Lions and the Packers unfortunately lost in Brazil to the Eagles. Other players however never even showed up as star running back for the Forty Niner Christian McCaffery was sidelined due to a calf/ achilles sprain preventing him from helping his team. Jordan Love and Kenneth Walker also suffered injuries in their games, stalling some of their team’s momentum and furthering the Packer’s lows. This was only the beginning of a turbulent season in the NFL as people look forward to the end of the year where Kendrick Lamar was doing the Super Bowl halftime show. The Sword and Shield will be covering all of this as regularly as we can, but make sure to keep up with other news stations to catch all the action.
