The Olympics was a true spectacle this year from shooting, to biking, to amazing running, the excitement was nonstop! The US has won the Summer Olympics nineteen times with 2024 being the nineteenth! With over 250 Athletes gracing the podium 60% of them were first-time gold finishers. The US competed in 47 of the 48 disciplines at the Olympics medaling in 37 of them earning them a tie for most gold medals with China at 40 and winning with 44 silvers and 42 bronze medals for a total of 126 medals. Team USA made history with six world records in addition to these medals. Some of the all-stars from the team included basketball, swimming, and track. With amazing athletes like Noah Lyles, Katie Ledecky, and Lebron James, they were ensured to outperform the competition. This hopefully will set them up for success when they compete again in 4 years at the LA Summer Olympics on home turf.
