Yes, it’s true. The dreaded time of year is here, back to school. September 1st only Freshmen will be at the school. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will begin September 5th. Now, if you just screamed or started balling your eyes out, take a breath, it’s going to be okay. The beginning of the school year sounds terrible, but be optimistic! There are plenty of things to look forward to for the beginning of the school year. These things being: Football games, seeing friends, making new friends, homecoming, and so much more! Okay, now that your attitude towards school is a little better, here are some tips for starting the school year strong!
- You probably have some new teachers this year. It is important to get on the right track with them right from the start. Remember to participate in class, ask questions, and be respectful.
- Before school starts try to get some school supplies such as binders, notebooks, and pencils/pens in order to stay organized and prepared.
- It is important to have a good relationship with your teachers. It could be helpful to meet with your teachers during flex, even for a small question, so they can see your effort and intention for the class.
- To meet new people and learn new things, it is great to join new clubs! You can learn about new clubs at the club fair on September 1st at Vel Phillips Memorial.
- It is important to get your routine down. Before the night before school (I know it is hard to think about school before necessary) it is helpful to come up with a morning and after school routine. This routine will help you feel less stressed and more prepared for the school days. It can be hard to get back into the school routine, so it is important to start thinking about it before the first day.
Even though summer is great, our school is filled with wonderful people and opportunities. Let’s start this school year off great Spartans!! See you all at school!
