Game of the Year! Vikings Clinch Unbelievable Victory against Bills

What a thriller between the two of the strongest teams in the league! After trailing and entering halftime at 24-10 against the Buffalo Bills, the Minnesota Vikings made a historic comeback to win in overtime, extending their winning streak to seven games. Falling behind 27-10 at the start of the fourth quarter, the Vikings responded with 20 unanswered points. 

It started with RB Dalvin Cook’s 81-yard burst to the endzone, the longest TD-run of his career. The highlight of the game came on the Vikings’ last drive, when on 4th and 18, Kirk Cousins launched a long ball to star wideout Justin Jefferson who made a heavily contested one-hand grab to keep the game alive. Although the Vikings slowly progressed to the goal line, they failed to convert on a QB sneak on 4th & goal, the turnover on downs giving QB Josh Allen and the Bills offense the final chance to end the game at 27-23. But on their first snap of the drive, Allen fumbled in the endzone and the Vikings defense recovered the ball for a late TD. Regaining possession with only 36 seconds left in regulation, the Bills somehow managed to kick a field goal to tie the game 30-30, heading into overtime. 

After the Vikings won the coin toss and kicked a field goal, the Vikings made a big-time stop against Josh Allen after CB Patrick Peterson intercepted the ball and ended the game on a Minnesota victory, elevating the Vikings as #1 in the league alongside the Philadelphia Eagles.

Green Bay Snaps Losing Streak

Entering Lambeau Field with a 5-game losing streak, Green Bay beat the Dallas Cowboys 31-28 in OT, with Aaron Rodgers throwing three touchdown passes to Christian Watson. The Pack started strong with Rodgers’ 58-yard touchdown to WR Christian Watson and RB Aaron Jones’ 13-yd TD run, leading 14-7. Dallas responded with three unanswered touchdowns and entered the fourth quarter with a 28-14. Although it looked as if Green Bay would tally another loss in their dreadful losing streak, Rodgers connected with Watson on a 38-yard go-ahead score on 4th down and 6, followed by another 7-yard touchdown from the rookie wideout to tie the game. After each maintaining possession in OT, Packers kicker Mason Crosby sealed the game with a 28-yard field goal. 

Chiefs-Chargers Showdown

The Kansas City Chiefs completed a 4th quarter comeback with a few minutes left against the Los Angeles Chargers as QB Patrick Mahomes fired a pass to TE Travis Kelce for the veteran tight-end’s third touchdown of the game to bring KC to a 30-27 lead. With under a minute left on the clock, Chargers QB Justin Herbert threw an interception that put the final nail in the coffin, as the Chiefs go 8-2 and lead the AFC. Mahomes threw for 329 yards and 3 TDs and has surged into the top MVP favorite over early MVP candidate QB Josh Allen, as the 2019 Super Bowl champ is on pace to throw over 5000 yards and over 40 TDs.
