After weeks of studying, late nights, and countless flashcards, AP testing season has officially ended! Congratulations to all the Memorial students who took an AP test or class this year. AP tests are always challenging, but this year, students navigated major changes introduced by the College Board.
For the first time, most AP exams were administered digitally. Subjects such as AP English Language, AP Psychology, and AP World History were taken entirely on our school-provided Chromebooks, marking a dramatic shift from the traditional paper-and-pencil format. According to the College Board, this move was intended to enhance security, streamline paperwork, and simplify test administration for schools. Some tests, such as AP Biology or AP Calculus, now use hybrid formats, incorporating both handwritten free-response questions and digital multiple-choice questions.
This change has resulted in mixed reactions among students—some appreciated not having to write long essays with pen and paper, while others preferred the ease of annotating physical texts.
For now, students can finally take a deep breath with AP season over. Have a great (test-free) summer (just don’t forget to check your AP scores when they come out on July 7th)!
