Are you looking for a welcoming space to meet new people and do fun crafts? Or just a relaxing room to eat lunch with your friends on Wednesdays? Whether you’re an experienced crafter or not, Sewing and Craft Club is the perfect place for you!
Led by a passionate team of creative leaders (including me!), Sewing and Craft Club meets weekly to dive into engaging and hands-on craft activities. Some of our past projects just this year include making jellybean bracelets, clay pinch pots, and yarn pumpkins. Last month, we had a very successful bake sale thanks to our members’ baking skills. Using funds raised from that, we hope to give back to our club members by making DIY club T-shirts (stay tuned, as you might be able to commission custom shirts from us in the future!).
Looking ahead, we hope to do more fun and interactive activities during meetings, especially during the holidays, such as decorating Christmas cookies and making holiday cards for people in our community. We also plan on creating volunteer opportunities for our members, including working with the Henry Vilas Zoo to sew and donate capybaras and local nursing homes to encourage creativity and connections between high schoolers and senior citizens.
With that being said, don’t be afraid to pay us a visit on Wednesdays at lunch in room 1224! Anyone is welcome, and we know you’re all busy, so don’t worry about Sewing and Craft Club being a huge commitment. Finally, join our Google Classroom (code kaqbkgl) and check out our Instagram (@vpmsewingandcrafts) to keep up with future projects, opportunities, and fundraisers!
