Jordan Love Leads Historic Comeback in Lambeau Debut

Lambeau Field fell silent as the Saints dominated the Green Bay Packers 17-0 entering the fourth quarter. Up till the Packers’ first field goal to tally their first score of the game, coach Matt LaFleur and Packers fans underwent a two-hour nightmare. With over five consecutive drives resulting in punts and one INT, the Green Bay offense led by QB Jordan Love could not get anything rolling. 

But with almost 7 minutes remaining in the quarter, Love sidestepped a Saints linebacker on 4th and goal for the Packers’ first touchdown of the game, making the score 17-9. While the entire offense was fired up, celebrations quickly came to a halt as the Packers coaching box signaled to LaFleur and Love to go for two points, instead of settling for a PAT. Despite LaFleur’s uncertainty over the risk to clinch a win over the Saints, the gamble paid off, as Love slotted a pass to Samori Toure to make the score 17-11.

One drive later, a 24-yard scramble by Love, followed by an over-the-shoulder touchdown pass to WR Romeo Doubs sealed the 18-17 win for the Packers. A 17-point deficit, fourth quarter comeback has happened only twice in franchise history: one by Love this Sunday and the other by Aaron Rodgers in the 2018 season opener against the Chicago Bears.

LaFleur commented on the thrilling fourth quarter, saying “”It was like a nightmare that went to a dream.” Carrying this new momentum, the Packers prepare for a Thursday night showdown against the Detroit Lions (2-1) at Lambeau Field.

Miami Dolphins’ Offense Destroys the Denver Broncos 70-20

726 scrimmage yards. 10 touchdowns. Final score 70-20. 

After recording two road wins, the Miami Dolphins returned to the Hard Rock Stadium and made one of the most dominant offensive performances in NFL history. The Dolphins recorded 726 total yards of offense, the most in franchise history and only nine yards shy of the all-time record set by the Los Angeles Rams in 1951. A total of 350 rushing yards set a new single-game franchise record.

Dolphins’ running backs Raheem Mostert(4 TDs, 142 yds) and De’Von Achane(4 TD’s, 236 yds) combined for 8 out of the 10 TD’s scored by the Dolphins and over 378 scrimmage yards. QB Tua Tagovailoa threw 309 yards for four touchdowns on 23-for-26 passing, posting a career-high 155.8 QB rating. Star wideout Tyreek Hill recorded nine receptions for 157 yards and one TD.

By scoring 70 points in one game, the Dolphins outscored the entire Broncos (69) team across three weeks and became the fourth team in history to score 70+ points in a single game. Hill, Mostert, and Achane also recorded the fastest sprint speeds in the entire league this season as well. Miami has undoubtedly the scariest offense full of explosive weapons, and if defenses cannot contain these threats, the Dolphins could be considered legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
